New York Is...

New York is...

Children of all religious, racial and ethnic backgrounds coming together to play tag at a local playground.  The United Nations and it's world leaders should learn from these children.

Greek salad as an appetizer, Thai food as the main course, frozen yogurt for desert and a Dunkin Donuts Hazelnut Iced Coffee on the way back to the train... all four different restaurants on the same block.  The flavors of the world come alive in my city.

A concrete jungle with sky scrapers tickleling the skirts of heaven.  Huge protected parks to get lost in.  Both extremes within a short driving distance from each other.

Residential neighborhoods where neighbors still sit on the stoops and share the events of their day.  Corporate neighborhoods where your doorman is your best friend. Multi-million dollar luxury apartments next to beautiful and humble, single family homes.

The cultural hub of the world.  Broadway plays, movie premieres, museums for every taste, concerts and music events for everyone, the ballet, Radio City Music Call, Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, etc.  That's just to name a few.

New York is New Yawk... with Brooklynites, Queensonites, Bronxites and New Yawkers; Mets fans and Yankee fans, Knicks fans and Nets fans, Giants fans and Jets fans, Ranger fans and Islander fans, and all the outside fans that sneak into our city and represent their teams' colors.

New York is vibrant and quiet and noisy and fast and slow and loud and introverted and extraverted and intense and smooth and dark and light and full and empty and more and more and more.

New York is everything, but more importantly, it is the place I choose to call home.
